It also operates industrial switching to rail customers in Baie-Comeau. COGEMA began operations in 1975 and operates the company’s only railcar ferry, the MV Georges Alexandre Lebel (Montreal). COGEMA was sold by CN to Quebec Railway Corporation during February 1999 when QRC also purchased the Matane and Mont Joli Subdivisions. In November 2008, CN re-purchased these assets from QRC. However prior to the re-purchase, QRC 1819 and mate QRC 1851 are seen systematically unloading and reloading the Georges Alexandre Lebel railcar ferry, in preparation for its afternoon crossing of the St Lawrence River, using 5 buffer cars and customary caboose CG79507. The conductor rides in and conveniently operates from the rear of the caboose. 1819 per se was a CP RS-18 locomotive, originally build as CP 8768 before being rebuilt to CP 1819. After CN’s purchase of the New Brunswick East Coast Railway in late 2008, NBEC 1819 was sold to the Gaspe Railway Company where it became SFG 1819. At the time of the photo during 2007 this was believed to be a QRC owned operation … no identifying letters otherwise on the two pictured locos excepting for Rail. So not CP at this time for sure but rather QRC or NBEC. In other photos aleit within the province of New Brunswick, she is often identified as NBEC 1819.

Thank you, I’ve been seeing a few pictures popping up on this site with RS18Us switching this ferry and I’ve been getting confused.

The angle the locomotives in the picture were shown at made it hard to see the patches which are visible in some side view images I found.
