While wandering out back at MacMillan Yard some years ago when I actually could, I happened across this old MLW CN 2030 in a state of despondency after suffering some sort of oil bath. Probably a unit ahead let loose out on the road. I am hoping someone out there in the know could give a run down on just what they think lead to this. Thanks!!

  1. i’d tell you but i was two years old :)

  2. I was going to say the same thing. Toilet paper won’t be able to clean that off. lol. Let loose. That’s funny.

  3. It looks like it has been made ready for the contest where you try to catch the greased pig and win a prize. :-D

  4. Ahh…. I’ll chime in on this one. Maybe Snake would agree. This is Mooney camouflage. They knew you were coming and quickly tried to hide the engine by covering it in black oil :)

  5. It’s rustproofing, railway style.

  6. Finally!!! A sensible answer !!!!!

  7. why does it look fresh, while in awful condition!

  8. This was an early stealth Diesel locomotive, and it worked. Nobody knows nuttin’!

  9. Still better than the paint that CN uses now
