Caption: Due to the roar of some trucks on Hwy 144, I did not pick up the rumble of the train until it was almost upon me, but the conductor must have spotted me a ways off. I had seen him before, probably at Cartier station. Friendly feller. :o) His exuberance in my opinion adds a lot to the photo; CP 5993, 4700 and 4735 northbound passing Levack Station. On the extreme left you can see the INCO track leading in from the mine(s) at Onaping. Not sure what they use now, but back then I only saw GE electric 100 tonners. Behind me there is a small yard in which loads and empties are exchanged.

Dandy photo. At this date, I bet there is a caboose on the tailend and they have a full crew. I’m guessing that big wave is coming from the headend brakeman. I am having difficulty with how crews are today. 2 guys on the ground and no hoghead as the 1 guy runs the engine by remote control. I love the little speeder garage with the rails leading out of it to the main track. Don’t see that anymore either. Thanks Arnold.
