The grey winter days are not far off now. Here we have one of CN's former BNSF Dash-8s leading a BNSF and NS Dash-9 up the slight grade at Scotch Block. This photo shows how similar the two engine models are externally, with the trucks being the main spotting feature. The "gull wing" cab roof contour was a ATSF/BNSF special order, which allowed the units to fit through on line coal loaders.
