Caption: At the end of the steam era, a few examples from notable steam engine classes were either donated or set aside for preservation by Canadian National. CN 4-6-4 K5a Hudson 5702 is pictured passing though Sunnyside dead-in-tow on a freight train in October 1960, enroute to Montreal for forwarding to the Canadian Railway Museum (Exporail) in Delson for preservation. Routing or preservation instructions are written on her boiler, cylinders and front. In the background, the TTC's Roncesvalles Carbarns can be seen teaming with PCC cars, and St. Joseph's Hospital is visible on the left.

CNR and CPR were both generous in donating steamers and in making them available for private purchase. Retro-thanks to all involved. It would be fairly easy for either corporation to renew at least one of these precious relics today. Make it so, please!
