Caption: Originally built as Maine Central 258, Ottawa Valley Railway 2000 is shown sitting in Hagersville two months after start up of Southern Ontario Railway's operation on the Hagersville Subdivision. The unit wears the colours of the failed New Hampshire & Vermont. I don't know how long TOR 2000 was in Ontario, I believe it was brief, as it was likely shipped off to Alberta for the start-up of the Mackenzie Northern Railway in 1998. It was there that the unit became RLK 3873. The GP38 ultimately found its way back to the Southern Ontario Railway, operating as RLK 3873 for many years. It outlived Rail America, retaining the RaiLink blue/white scheme and then was neatly patched when Genesee & Wyoming purchased Rail America. G&W shipped out RLK 3873 for rebuild, and the unit returned to home rails 2016-10-27 as a GP38-2 dressed in G&W corporate orange and black, and renumbered again as RLHH 2081. There can't be too many locomotives to work for the same railroad having three distinctly different reporting marks, number, and paint scheme!
