Caption: It still boggles my mind how quick the SD40 fleets have disappeared from North America's railroads. It is hard to believe they were once more plentiful on CN then today's fleet of ES44's. In 2000 they were still a dime a dozen, and could be found almost on every train. CN over the past couple of decades has had a colourful mix of SD40s, from a variety of railroads: GTW, IC, WC, DWP, and BC Rail, not to mention the leased units. A trio of SD40s are seen here hauling train 395 through the curve at mile 30 of the Halton subdivision. They are CN, GCFX and DWP linage.
