Caption: Still a rather barren looking landscape around Bayview Jct., as the days are just starting to warm up. It is early May. A good time to be out as days are brightening, and foliage is not obscuring the "scenery". This is the view looking toward the walkbridge from the junction; it is empty of trainwatchers, this being a Wednesday. Rather healthy looking train, CN 3152 and 3153 westbound. I forget the train number.........but the sun angle indicates it a noon hour move. The "third track", on the left, used to be where the pushers were staged in the steam era, necessary to assist heavy freights up that long Dundas grade thru Copetown. The rail was retained into the 1980s as a stub for MoW equipment and the like. Note the little tool shed. At one time, they were seemingly everywhere.

This is a very neat angle. I believe this is all grown in now and it’s a much tighter shot.
And don’t forget about the Bayview nameboard off to the far right…visible just beyond the CTC signal beside said toolshed…marks where a tower once stood.
I was thinking of the shed on the left that looks somewhat like an outhouse; but yes, you’re right….the sign is also an important part of the landscape. And this is the old wooden one !!!!
Lots of changes in 38 years. Pre VIA-RAIL? How long has the walk bridge been there? It might be your shooting angle but the passenger cars look almost like subway cars.
The Walkbridge was completed late 1975.
@ Cdntrainphotog – looks like VIA is just getting started…three cars look to have the blue-yellow-blue striping along the sides, common on stainless steel cars for VIA back when. It is especially noticed on the first car after the engines. I think these cars were also used for GO transit too at some point?
