Caption: A nice meet and a nice excuse to talk about the continuing construction on GO Transit's new east maintenance facility. Firstly, this shot wraps up an unusually busy morning in the Whitby/Oshawa area, which saw two westbound freights working Oshawa Yard simultaneously (one on the main, and this one on the yard lead). As CN 2193 and 2555 prepare to depart with an unknown train (I suspect it is either 369 or 373), VIA 918 rolls past with train 64 and an all-Budd consist. In the background, construction of more sheds has begun and is beginning to obstruct the view from the Hopkins Street bridge. To the east, work continues on more structures. Currently, Hopkins is reduced to one lane with deep trenches being dug in the road. While the days of this location are undoubtedly numbered, there is still no sign of when the road will close.
