An eastbound auto train is approaching Edmonton. Note the beefy high railcar just behind the locomotives. It is there to clear ice from tunnels thus protecting the expensive automobiles following. Note the date.
A train with seven locomotives on the front end was very rare on CN. Typically, CN would run a train with only 2 engines on the mainlines in and out of Edmonton.
