and FREE of passenger trains at that hour ….what did you turn back on ?
Well we passed the westbound VIA train early in the AM. We shuttled back home as Belleville is not my terminal to work out of.
I am soooo jealous! This is a great shot…but more importantly, this area (Belleville, Napanee, etc.) is very important to me.
But what I love the most…is the splattered fly guts on the right hand side window
Thanks for the compliment Todd, its appreciated. LOL I only noticed the squashed bug on the window after I posted it.
Question for you Capt Hall..I know I’ll get the right answer…do all CN trains change crews at Belleville? there is no long pools for stax or anything?
LOL@Snake2..Capt Hall. Retired.
All east and westbound trains change at Belleville. Not long ago they had what was called “extended run” trains that hand Montreal crews running to Mac Yrd/BIT. Then they would return to Montreal on 368 or 120 depending on the time. Lots of time the westbound trains had to be recrewed, so they stopped the extended run trains. Now Montreal guys run west to Belleville and take an eastbound back to Montreal and the Belleville crews run west to Mac/Bit and also east to Montreal.
The only exception to this was when Toronto based crews to the Roadrailer from Mac and met its westbound Montreal based crew at a certain meeting point and they switched trains. The Toronto crew picked up the westbound headed to Conport (Mac Yrd) and the Montreal crew to the Toronto crews eastbound to Montreal.
