It sure does not look like the CN, but it is. We're just east of the Bayview Walkbridge, Plains Rd W looming overhead; as currently westbound CP 8234, 8224, 8209 and 8246 as #522 meet eastbound CP 4719, 4247 and 4716. Now all CP traffic goes by way of Guelph Jct. I failed to note the train number of the eastbound :O(

  1. CP sure tied a lot of locomotives on some of those trains across the CN Oakville Sub. Great shot as usual.

  2. i am curious how you got to this spot for a “meet shot” – was one of these trains stopped?

    certainly a rare occurance…

  3. Steve: I used to have a “spot” where I could sit up in the hillside, out of sight, and had good sight-lines both ways. I could cross tracks if necessary. In this case I got lucky. The westbound had a caution and he was doing maybe 10MPH when he passed, and the eastbound was at speed. (heard him going on to CN at Ham Jct) Rather than stand in the sun on the bridge, I laid back on the hillside with my scanner, camera, and a good book.
