Ridgetown is one of the few towns left in Ontario that still has some existing relics from the days of rail. Not only is the CSX station still standing, but as you will see from this photo the old mile marker made from concrete. Here at Mile 84, of the CSX Blenheim Subdivision, the old roadbed is clearly visible as well as the spur that ran to the mill.

  1. These concrete mileposts date to the Lake Erie & Detroit River Railway days…. 1880′s to 1890′s for sure.

    The LE&DR is still the corporate entity that owns the existing roadbed and some of the operating rights (CN bought the rights for Fargo to Chatham, but LE&DRR still owns the property below ballast/rails)
