Caption: A cold day of shuttling commuters between Brampton and Toronto finds the regular GO Transit 8-car (L8) consist of "The Bramalea Flip",as it was known by some employees at the time, taking shelter under the train shed on Track 1 at Union Station. Snow can be seen blowing in a few tracks over off the roof of the 1920's Bush-style trainshed, with more encrusted on the front of Bombardier-built cab car 242 (still one of the newest in the fleet at the time), built up after its morning and afternoon trips alternating the lead position with F59PH 534 on the other end.
It's 2:51pm, which means there's still enough time to grab some Harvey's in the Great Hall before returning for #281's usual "15:15" departure as shown in the Georgetown line timetable. Hastily-scrawled writing in the day's notepad entry have an arrow pointed to 242 with the words "railfan seat", indicating we got our preferred seating looking out the front of the train for the 36-minute ride to Bramalea.
(The other notable event of the day was the first run of an MP40PH-3C in regular revenue service: 602 with 560 and a 10-car train on the Lakeshore line (also rode behind on run #919)).
