Caption: After the Easter long weekend ice storm, CP 112 with CP 9781 and mid-train DP unit CP 8933 sits in the siding track at Baxter after meeting CP 113 (CP 8616, CP 9607 and DP unit CP 8615). South of Alliston, train 421 is doubling away into the yard at Spence to perform their work and once he is clear, 112 will receive their clearance to depart for points south. The ice storm which occurred the previous day had blanketed southern Ontario with a layer of ice, with the Alliston/Baxter area being particularly hard hit. Areas further north must not have fared any better, as evidenced by the damage to the 9781. If you look closely, you will notice that both ditch lights are damaged, with the lights dangling below the front platform of the locomotive; if they still work, they will not do much good once the train gets rolling!
