Caption: With power I more associate with the now-defunct Northland passenger train, ONR 1800 leads the daily eastbound freight toward Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec and the huge XStrata Copper facility located there. The old box-like Larder Lake station, built in 1924 when Temiskaming & Northern Ontario pushed a rail line thru here, is long gone. MoW shed on the right now sports the old namesign. Not sure of the status of the other two "outhouse" style buildings, but felt them worthy of being visible in the photo. For some odd reason I have always associated outhouses with the North. :o) Power on this train is ONR 1800. 1804 and 1736. It will return near sundown to Swastika Jct and back down to Englehart. Today's version of this train usually runs with modern SD75I locos.

Might visit this spot on Thursday, Larder Lake Station road?
I wonder if that old structure is still there after all these years? It would be nice. I honestly did not remember the exact location….
