Black and white photos have always represented to me the capturing of a subject matter from years gone by. Sadly, the ex-GWR / CN station in Ingersoll shows that very neglect from the years having gone by.
Upon my most recent trip to the station in the summer of 2014, it's state of neglect had worsened so much that thr back side of the building had almost caved in completely. A short time after, I found online that the town had talks with CN to purchase it. But like so many other stories of other town's in Ontario trying to save a piece of their architectural history - the station would prove to be too costly, as well as town of Ingersoll not being able to plan a 'further use' for it.
I am hoping that the station does still stand, and it does get saved. Anyone who lives in that area, or have made a railfanning trip to there, please keep me informed.

  1. That back roof looked awful when I stopped there last in the fall of 2015. There is nothing left salvageable but the brick walls. I have to admit I am surprised the vandals haven’t made short work of it. Nice sharp picture, by the way. :o )
