Headlights dimmed, CN 368 behind CN 5362, GTW 5949, and CN 4774 is about to pass the stopped 305 on a blustery late autumn day. Of the four CN freights I caught in a couple hours trackside, this was the only train not lead, or completely powered by, new 8800 series SD70M-2s. Thinking back, this was the real beginning of the end of these types of lashups out on the Kingston Sub, as now just about everything is powered by pairs of 4000-4400 HP locomotives. The stopped 305 not seen in the photo was powered by two of them with a GP38-2 along for the ride. 1434hrs.
