Since it is Quebec, and not to knock it, but do the crews tolerate the only English in the cab? Only English? I know CN and CP’s units are bilingual. KCS is English and Spanish.
Virtually all through CP freights into and out of Montreal have english-speaking crews, from either Smiths Falls, ON or Albany, NY, so I guess it is not much of an issue.
The only reason I’m asking as that AMT commuter trains have all French advertising. When GO Transit sent them a trainset because of the Victoria Bridge collapse, AMT left all the advertisements in English up. One of my friends emailed me about that one. I’m sure they have bilingual crews, even on AMT.
It’s only because as soon as you venture outside Pontiac County, Montreal and the Eastern Townships, you’ll run into the hardcore Francophones.
