Caption: Third times the charm. After arriving about 30 seconds too late 2 days in a row for this shot, I went down early, and waited 2 hours. Finally, OSR arrived hading south with 15 cars, some likely for PDI Elizabeth, 2 appeared to be for Owens Corning fiberglass, and the tanks are likely for PDI Bulk Liquid (formerly Huntsman Chemical).
At one time, this was the terminating point of the Guelph Junction Railway, at Goldie's Mill, http://www.historicplaces.ca/en/rep-reg/place-lieu.aspx?id=10867 the ruins of which are hidden in the background. This changed in 1907, after the CPR had leased the line to complete it to Goderich (eventually becoming the CPR Goderich Sub.). The first train arrived in Guelph from Goderich on August 26, 1907. At one time, there was a station at Goldie's Mill. A Grand Trunk Railway station http://guelph.pastperfectonline.com/photo/E04ADA1A-10EB-4B49-96C8-040705254697. The GTR connection was the Galt and Guelph Railway (G&G). The G&G connections is now the CNR spurline trail, which connected to the CPR about1/3 of a mile north of this photo.
CPR doodlebug 9004 (originally battery car http://www.trainweb.org/oldtimetrains/CPR_London/history_branch_psgr.htm 9002) "Old Sparky" also parked here for the evening. "Sparky" ran trips from the Guelph CPR depot south through Arkell, Corwhin, Moffat, and into Guelph Junction. 9004 was retired on April 30, 1958, and scrapped December 24, 1958. CPR 9002 was converted to a trailer for gas-electric cars, and scrapped in December 1958.

What is the schedule for this train? Or does it have no patterns?
Nice shot Jacob. My grandfather worked on the 9004 to 1950 till his passing him and my grandmother just lived up the street so my grandfather could just walk to work.
Alex, OSR’s Guelph Junction Railway division runs five days a week, Monday to Friday, at least one job per day, and on occasion, two jobs on a day (there were periods this year they ran two jobs all week!)
First job usually ordered 0800 at Guelph Jct and second job ordered one or two hours later.
Arrive the north end about 1100-1200.. return south within the hour or two…
if there are two jobs Job #2 usually works the south end (PDI Elizabeth, Fibreglass, Huntsman) while #1 works the north end (Traxxside, PDI Massey, AOC, etc)

I don’t think so.
At one time, the CN Goldie Spur crossed CP near the mill. The diamond was removed just before I started on CP in 1973, if I recall.
