Caption: WHAT IS OLD IS NEW AGAIN. The Grand Trunk built the station in Brockville around 1856. The CN made it's alterations to the station around the mid 60's, boarding up the brick exterior and arched windows that dominated the station.
However, not all is lost. As of this year, VIA decided against replacing this structure with a new station, and shed the building of the 'old' and outdated look. It restored the station to almost it's former glory with a red brick exterior, and with new modern windows that give it a vintage 'appeal'.
Although I have not gotten up to photograph the station after it's recent restoration, this photo in 2006 shows how far VIA has come with the 'updating' and 'modernization' of it's stations. The trend here was the red roof, and blue name boards. Of note - the mural at the east end of the station was a sign of things that had oncde passed, and was to come back again to the Brockville station unknown to many at this time.
