Caption: Its a rather eventful Saturday for the fans gathered at the old Grimsby CN station as CN 6060 starts up eastbound as a westward CN freight crawls by. This special oil-fired (converted) locomotive never failed to attract a crowd. That is the Christie St overpass in the background, and I am standing, alone, I might add, on the Maple Av bridge, with most fans content with being at the station. The track in the foreground veers off to the historic GTR station (out of view). The track looks disused in this scene; last time I saw anything on it was a boxcar a few months earlier, probably a bad order car. The track was removed a few years after this image was taken, and the CN station burned down in an electrical fire on the very last day of 1994. Currently a VIA kiosk occumpies this location, yet only Amtrak provides service down thru Niagara any more.

Great memories, Arnold! Thanks for posting!
That scene has certainly changed. This was replaced by that kiosk you showed me? Sad, very sad.
