The late Del Rosamond didn't live far from where this picture was taken. Perhaps he heard the distinctive Northern's whistle and decided to drive over and check out the action. Circa 1959. Sadly, Del's original slide is not in good shape. The colour wasn't initially processed correctly and there is significant age related decay. Major Photoshop restoration was required to produce this image. Enjoy!

    Very nice. What is that on the faltcar behind the locomotive? It looks like some sort of turbine/generator.

    I’m glad that the effort was made to display this photo. The great thing about Mr. Rosamond was his ability to get the people , going about their duties, into the shot. Snow and steam just accent the cold day that didn’t make the workers shirk from their jobs. Thanks for posting.
