  1. Mmmm, GO F40PH screamboxes. I heard when Amtrak got ‘em, they found that they were beat to heck by GO.

  2. Now thats a BIG logo.

  3. Beat to heck by GO? Try Beat to Heck by CP Rail. As one retired CP Engineer told me once, GO would lease these things out on the weekends. They came in sets of 3 from Willowbrook, or they took them from the trains in Milton. They could only go as far east as Montreal, I forgot about the west, and as far north as Sudbury, then be returned to Toronto as quickly as possible. Come Monday or Tuesday morning into the shops they would go for traction motor changeout. Beat to hell by GO? Try Beat to Manure by CP. The last of these locomotives to leave were the ex Rock Island GP40M-2′s. When they were traded into GM upon the final order for F59PH’s, they went right into the “GMD” Leasing fleet. Up until 1999, I believe it was very common to see these GP40M-2′s still running around in GO Transit dress. If you look, you could see the GP40M-s and F40 Thunder Wagons leading CP Rail trains. The final order of F59′s put an end to this practice.
