CN 394 didn't disappoint this day......NS(Conrail)C40/ BNSF(Santa Fe)B40 and a CN SD70 as it heads east under signal 361T3 at Snake.....Note on track 2 a WB yellow signal and a restricting signal on the Aldershot yard lead.

  1. Is that…is that a signal light below “361″ plate on the farthest right track? Or am I seeing things.

    and nice shot !

  2. Maybe that’s 351*

  3. This train is on track 3 at Snake, the signal under 394 is 361T3

  4. It is Cameron. Its a “DV” light, meaning when it is flashing, the train may proceed at diverging speed (25mph) passing signal and through turnouts, as opposed to just getting a slow to clear (15mph), as long as they are clear of the yard ofcourse. You’ll only get a diverging signal if you have a light at Bayview as well.

  5. Actually Cameron, cpcnguy is partially correct. The signal (when bottom aspect flashing) is a diverging signal. But you don’t specifically have to have a light at Bayview as you can get a diverging to stop signal if you are all red at Bayview. Also trains do not have to be clear of the yard at Aldershot to go 25mph. Once a trains tail end passes Lemonville Rd overpass it can go 25mph.

  6. Phil if you wouldn’t mind giving me your email I have a cab shot of you on 422?
