Recently, fairly new railway Central Maine and Quebec purchased 10 SD40-2F's from CP, and after months of storage awaiting their fate, a few of these uniquely Canadian locomotives have been spared from a rebuild program that would have seen them lose their "draper taper" look and blend in with the rest of CP's SD30C-ECO's. Loathed by crews, but appreciated by most that follow the CPR, catching 9014 on home turf for the last time is certainly a bittersweet moment after years of considering these iconic locomotives notable, but common along the MacTier sub.
