The daily southbound mixed freight crossing the Nikomekl River in the small town of Crescent Beach, BC in August 1993. There was typically only one daily freight in and out of Canada at that time. On one of my business trips to NW Washington, I happened to be redirected to the Vancouver airport instead of Seattle and saw this trestle and the one just to the north over the Serpentine River out the window. I made a mental note to check them out if there was ever an opportunity to be there when there would be a train. I got that chance on a later trip. I remember being worried about how slow the train was going and the rising tide, but was willing to get a little wet.
