I was following with great interest the recent threatened demise of the Algoma Central Railway. I'm delighted that it will continue to run. It is on my bucket list to ride that train some autumn.

GP7, #158, is shown at Frater in June 1983. This locomotive was manufactured by GMD in 1951, and retired (scrapped) 53 years later.

  1. Always loved this paint scheme. Second only to the D&H. :o )

  2. The AC is owned and operated by CN.. It was the Agawa Tour train that was in jeopardy saved by the ‘Remote Passenger Rail Program’ a 3-Year Federal Funding program. If only they could have saved the Nothlander due to McGuinty and his lying-Liberal cuts. ;)

  3. Great shot of an old GP7.
