Caption: During the summer and fall of 2012, Mother Parkers celebrated their centennial with a series of charters using their private car, Pacific. The car was coupled to the end of VIA and ONR trains for a series of trips around Ontario and Quebec. The trips were limited to a wealthy clientele, who paid for the privilege of being pampered aboard the vintage car. Do not despair, however, all of this money and privilege went to good use as the trips were designed to raise money for the Alzheimer Society of Canada. In all, Mother Parkers aimed to raise $1 million. I don't know if they reached their goal, but Pacific's travels made 2012 a memorable year for railfans.
In this image, Pacific is seen on the tail of train 59 as is races through Whitby during the last minutes of sun.
