CN 435 throttles up out of Brantford with CN 2452 and IC 1010 providing the power on a lovely May afternoon.  I finished work at 5 and got a timely heads up that 435 was close to being done their yard work from a friend, so a quick drive over to the Brant Ave overpass worked out well.

  3. Yes I did Stephen. 435 left it on the tail end overnight

  5. DPU or just a BCOL 4645 dead and drained on the tailend heading to Sarnia for work? CN 2452 is not Distributed Power capable, of course!

  6. The yard crew referred to it as DP and some didn’t even know what DP was. Also heard the conductor to talking to yard crew that it was pushing from behind. However, it wasn’t cut off the trian. They left it on the tail end sitting in the yard

  7. So…no I did not shoot the BCOL on the tail end, I was in a rush and had places to be so I shot the head end and once the train became straight autoracks I left. I dropped the ball on that one clearly!

    As Tim pointed out the lead unit is not set up for running with a DPU so I don’t think 4645 was even online. It was more than likely hitching a ride to Sarnia as it ended up on L509 the next day and didn’t return on 434 last night.

    That’s my insight.

  8. 4645 is now at the bunkhouse in Sarnia awaiting placement at LDS, arrived at the bunkhouse early this morning.

  9. It was hitching a ride. I have submitted photo of it but it has not been reviewed. It shows the whole front of the unit bent up. It looks as if it hit a hay truck I was told by a guy in Sarnia
