Caption: Along the Grimsby Subdivision is a hidden gem, the old CN Thorold Subdivision overpass. Little information is known about the bridge. It was used by CN on the back entrance line to the Merriton yard. It was removed in the mid 70's, and the supports have remained since. Slowly being taken back by nature, I suggest you take your pictures here while you can before it's no longer possible. On the still active (but just hanging on) Grismby Subdivsion, the Thanksgiving GO Special runs through, on the way back to Toronto.

That’s very interesting, I did not have that knowledge about those columns. As for your statement about the Grimsby Sub, CN is indeed still cutting. All yard operations at Fort Erie were recently moved to Port Robinson. That was why CN 421 and 422 no longer go there, and the yard is completely empty most of the time now. CN gets rid of something every year out here. Who knows what’s still up their sleeve.
Look back about 10 years at what we had…we had NS 327/238 (with about every lashup you could imagine), CN 338/339, and I believe it was 430/431…plus: 231 and 567 were way more common than the rare appearance here and there. And Via. So yeah.
