Caption: It is the day after the infamous Mississauga wreck. One CP train had come down to Hamilton in the morning in an attempt to bypass the Mess by making Toronto via the CN, and we hung around the day hoping to see a second one. But it didn't happen. Dundas Station looked to be a nice spot to catch an eastbound. But since that opportunity became increasingly bleak as the day wore on, I decided to head for my 'perch', a mound of dirt on the south side of the tracks with a view of the old Canada Crushed Stone Ltd and wait for VIA #75. The evening was getting dull, resulting in an image not as sharp as I would have liked it; but this was a great lashup, even for those days. A-B-A-A combination. First and third units still in their CN paint, the others in the new VIA scheme. (This is the early days of VIA) Track on lower right went to Steetlys, another rock business; it connected with CN and the TH&B !! Long gone, and there is a housing development there now...........
