Caption: CP extra 420, or 9-420-03 is led by UP 3655 through the south end of Alliston on a somewhat overcast day in May. Autoracks make up a good percentage of the regularly scheduled 420, and there are usually a lot. Union Pacific units are also relatively common on it, and leaders aren't too rare. So, I guess a UP unit leading an extra 420 isn't too surprising. This extra is moving a bit faster than the normal 420 as it is just autoracks, 72 to be exact. It is still receiving the same treatment as the regular 420 though as it had to wait at Baxter for two and a half hours for a couple northbounds and for Spence to clear up. After finally starting to move, it is getting ready to stop again after traveling less than 6 miles. I don't nickname CP "Canadian Parking" for nothing. I can't imagine the crew was very happy about it either. However, once they drop their train at Spence, it will be swift light run to Toronto yard.
