Remembering with great irony how I despised the F59's throughout their service lives, not surprising given the riot of variety they eliminated, I'm pleased to catch a bobtailed GO Train approaching Whitby alongside CN 376. The pleasant two tone GO scheme is juxtaposed with the new, 'Green Vomit' scheme. Thanks to the stuffed shirt who felt that something not being broken is no reason at all not to try and fix it. GO 558 and 563 do the honours. 1216hrs.

  1. As Nelon Muntz would say from the Simpsons – “Ha ha! you like F59′s!’

  2. I seem to be firmly in the minority, but I like the new GO paint scheme. Though I don’t see there being any good reason for them to have changed it, other than for the sake of change.

  3. Perhaps I’m just feeling some sympathy for the F59′s hegemony being lost, Steve?

Michael, it’s definitely someone at Metrolinx causing change for the sake of change. Original GO is timeless and, dare I say, every bit an identifier of Toronto as the CN Tower.
