Caption: The West Toronto Diamond in January 1975, the junction of CP's Galt, Mactier and North Toronto subs, and CN's Brampton sub. To the left was the CPR West Toronto station, to the right was CN's West Toronto Station. The tracks heading under the signal bridge lead to Lambton Yard, on the other side of the Old Weston Road bridge. And behind the photographer was CP's service track, formerly the Toronto, Grey and Bruce mainline.
Pretty much everything in this photo is gone now, the Old Weston Road bridge was closed to road traffic in 1972 and demolished in 1981. It was one of the best vantage points in Toronto to watch trains.
The diamond was taken out of service May 23, 2014, after 130 years of service, when the grade separation for the Union Pearson Express was competed
