Caption: 1087 The Way Freight is in from Havelock after making its way along the Peterboro Subdivision doing work here and there. Crew will layover at Lambton before heading back next day to their home terminal at Havelock. Like many similar jobs it works 6 days a week in opposite directions with Sunday off. In other words ex Havelock Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ex Lambton Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. D-10 class engines were particularly suitable for this type of work. The next day 1057 will be dispatched. Both 1057 and 1087 lasted until the end of steam early in 1960. Monday, November 9, 1959.
