On a trip to Goderich in May 2008, we came across numerous GEXR locomotives resting in the yard. Here we see HLCX 6522 (an SD45 I think) posing beside a familiar locomotive - the RailLink F unit, RLK 1401, which is now part of the OSR fleet. Also note the piece of equipment between the two locomotives. I leave this open for discussion.

    HLCX 6522 was by far one of the best units ever operated on the GEXR. Kevin your partially correct, it is an SD45 shell, though internally it’s an SD40-2M…or along that line. It’s too bad RA didn’t buy these, 2 out of the 3 HLCXs were great units, better then the GSCX crap.

    That piece of equipment between the 2 units is an engine block, can’t remember which one it came out of, possibly 3843.

    How long did the hlcx last? Didn’t seem very long.
