I'm guessing that most of the regular viewers on RPca are aware of the recently restored Del Rosamond collection. Of all the images, this particular photograph has generated the most comments... it is kind of funny, but people either really like or dislike this shot. 


As an aside, two things remain unchanged from that cold day, circa 1960, when Del took this picture: the river... and the water-tower. Yes, the water-tower that Del climbed for this shot is still there!  In fact, the City of Pembroke is well known for their large-scale public murals. The side of this same water-tower now features a painting of the Pembroke CPR stone station (long gone) and CPR Pacific-type #1223 (long gone).


Personally, I like this shot... and I hope you do too.

  2. hmm….looks like a B&O “wagon top” boxcar in the background. CP must have been taking advantage of some “back-haul”.
