Caption: CN 450 - CN 2679 South is under control coming down the bottom of the hill into Bracebridge before finding the perfect moment to let off on the brakes and start to pull, in search for a little push from the tail end to get up the hill out of town towards High Falls. Railroading is an art in of itself sometimes, and this can be a challenging 20 MPH slow through "the bowl" in Bracebridge. Brand new CN 8802 is also notable in this picture, along with a very rare sighting of 2 different Huntsville engines. CN 4110 had come up earlier in the week to fill in for at the time assigned engine CN 4136 while it was in Toronto for servicing. The regular practice was to switch out engines during 595's days off (Sat/Sun), but for whatever reason whenever 4136 was repaired it was immediately sent back before 4110 was done pitch hitting, usually swapped out on the Sunday night. This particular Thursday afternoon 450 was bringing both locomotives back for servicing ahead of the usual Friday lift, earning 595 the Friday off! This was the 2nd and last time I've seen 2 locomotives in yard service based out of Huntsville, a rare shop goof. Much to the surprise of the photographer, this photo recently turned 7 years old, leaving me to wonder how it will feel in another 30 years?
