Caption: End of the Line. Looking down the north rail of the CN's Kinghorn Sub (at approximately Mile 177) through the "sled" at Birch Beach Road, 20 miles east of Thunder Bay. After wrapping up removal operations 6 months prior, the sled is back to remove the final 20 miles of abandoned rail line into Thunder Bay. The train crew will arrive in the next couple days with a rail train and drag the sled, which peels the rails away from the ties with great efficiency. Within a couple months the crew will be finished with this portion of the rail, switching to the east end of the line, traversing down from Longlac to remove the remainder of the once 195 mile branch through Northern Ontario.
