Caption: The late photographer, Del Rosamond, spent most of his life in Pembroke, Ontario. He was employed as a local professional firefighter. I think that we should consider ourselves fortunate that his hobbies and passions included photography and railroads. With gentle pushes of his shutter button, Del managed to capture the final days of steam in his small Canadian town. I'll admit that I am captivated by his images. His pictures often showed a great deal of action... the people, cars, and commotion. On occasion, however, he simply photographed the sheer beauty of the mechanics. This detailed image of Pacific type #2500, taken at the Pembroke stone station, is one such example. My thanks, once again, are extended to Steve Host at Railpictures.ca, for allowing me to share with you the link to the rest of Del's photo gallery at... www.CanadianSteam.Smugmug.com.
