Caption: When in Revelstoke, British Columbia, a must for railnuts of all ages is a visit to the Revelstoke Rail Museum, just off the Trans-Canada Hwy 1 at Victoria Rd and Long Av in town. Not only is it close by the entertaining CP yard, it is a fascinating collection of artifacts and documents relating to the building of the CPR that brought Canada together from coast to coast, it is also jam packed with history on CPR and its struggle with the Rocky Mountains. Here is an image of a westbound CEFX 1046, CP 8826 with a long stack train crossing Long Av in front of this most impressive museum structure. Out of sight is a rolling stock display as well. Plan a few hours for a visit in order to "soak it all in".
