Caption: This was an interesting and unexpected catch. After just retiring from work, I still had that "urge" to get up in the morning and go somewhere. It wasn't work any more, so it had to be to the tracks. (One can't just quit the daily routine, one has to 'wind down') The night before I had heard CSX 7777 around Paris, just after midnight. There was NO WAY I could ever expect this neat leader to still be in the vicinity when I arrived at Tansley in the morning, but here it is! Don't know what they had been up to all night, but the female conductor sure was in a crabby mood! The fridge had failed and her sandwich was shot. CSX 7777, 8119 and CN 2684 as train #398 are seen just about to hit the crossing Side Road No.1, near Mile 42 Halton in the early daylight; maybe 0630. Foreign power was plentiful for awhile in early 2007.

Foreign power is becoming plentiful again, Mr Mooney This morning I shot U720 with 2 BNSF’s trailing, CN 382 with a BNSF trailing and yesterday CN 331 with a CSXT and CN 360 with two NS’s. It is returning nicely!
Thanks, Mr. Bishop! I had seen the odd foreign unit lately……nice to know they are coming back in full force….hopefully for the fall season at least.
Nice shot Arnold.
Have you been retarded – oops Retired – that long?
Looking at your Body Of Work on this website I don’t know how you had time to go to work at all. Please keep digging more from your archives and posting.
Why are FOP’s back on Canadian soil again? I thought there were restrictions of some case or another?
Brad, as per CN union rules foreign units are not supposed to lead in Canada because they do not have the amenities that the crews require (microwave, hotplates, etc). This doesn’t mean that they cannot come into Canada as trailing units. All of the foreign units that I have shot in the past few months have been trailing CN power.
