NS 2506 leads Train symbolled H3R (Formerly NS 369 or 445) across the International Bridge into Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada with interchange traffic for Canadian National. This train uses Canadian St. Thomas based crew, the very same that used to haul NS and Norfolk and Western traffic through Ontario and hold this interchange job due to their Union contract dating to the Wabash Railroad.

    Does this St. Thomas, Ont., based crew originate H3Rin in Buffalo?
    If so, it seems to be an inconvenient starting point, involving
    a long and difficult commute. Just wondering what their
    day is like?

    Yes, they originate in Buffalo. The crew district office is St. Thomas, but some of the crew may live in Fort Erie, depending on if they are regular crew or spareboard. The details of how their day is like could only be answered by a railroader though…
