I’d have to say what I miss the most since my first days of being a train buff is the HOWL of prime movers straining to make ‘the grade’, no matter where it was. Vinemount was one of those places that the thrill of hearing the deafening roar just never seemed to fade…..until……(sigh) The all-time classic location for surround-sound and earth shaking was, of course, the Horseshoe Curve in PA. Now, the sheer strength of todays locomotives almost takes the ‘fun’ out of it all. )
