Rolling through the sunny streets of downtown Toronto, TTC CLRV 4103 cruises westbound along Dundas Street after stopping at Church. Traffic, both on rubber soles and and on rubber tires, goes about its late afternoon business.

It's amazing in a way all the different areas and neighbourhoods a streetcar in Toronto can pass through from one end of its route to the other; take this particular section of the 505 for example. While the ever bustling and commercialized Dundas Square is behind us along with the Eaton Centre, and further to the west there's lots of suit spillover from Bay Street and University Avenue, the kink in Dundas after Victoria and the tall buildings isolate this quieter section of Dundas nicely. Calmer and less busy, the stores lining both sides see a moderate amount of foot traffic from the neighbouring Ryerson University and its residences. Another curve in the distance arcs Dundas St. to Sherbourne, and through the more seedier neighbourhood of Moss Park. Generally safe during the day, once you pass Filmore's Hotel just around the bend it's best to proceed with caution all the same, and use discretion when walking around with a camera.
