The GEXR was of 'newborn' status when this image was taken, showing here GEXR 177 & 180 with a long load of salt cars ready to depart for Stratford as crew finish some last minute chatter. Business at left, Champion, was a popular outfit in town, bright yellow road graders often parked waiting for shipment south. Volvo moved in after Champion left, and now I believe the property is vacant. Anyone??

    Oh wow! My two favorite GEXR units Titania and Flagstaff paired together. Wonder where Paulina and Portia were? As for Champion both my grandfathers worked there as a welder and mechanist. As far I know and my last visit that way it was empty. I’ll have a gander for you next time I’m up that way.

    Always felt the green and cream was a very attractive scheme, and such a pity they have gone to the RA circus of colours.

    Or you could just check the map Street View :) Looks occupied now (as of 2015, summer)

    Glad that Goderich is still busy in 2016 – heard rumours the Salt plant may be having issues, but seems OK now.

    Champion was taken over by Volvo. Building has been re-purposed.
