This is a Canron Vibra-Tool tamper that was manufactured by Canron/Tamper in the late 1970′s through the 1980′s. Some units were built at Canron’s Toronto, ON facility. It was a very light duty machine that could be optioned out with features similar to some of the larger tamping machines, such as the Jr. Foreman attachment, rail clamps and jacks, and moveable workheads for switch tamping capability. CN owned a number of these units across their system back in the 70′s and 80′s.
