Caption: While looking for a proper angle to shoot this old railraod station, I heard an approaching train. Westbound comes the mid-day CN Tempo Train (for this is pre-VIA) and it gave the image a 'little extra', which is why I decided to share it. The station is the on the line of the former Lake Erie & Northern (aka:Late Every Night) and this was once an electified line. CP, which had taken over the Galt to Port Dover trackage, ran way-freights as needed up until the early 1980s, when the line was shut down and all the trackage pulled up. This station saw the last passenger trains in 1955, and when I first visited here I recall perhaps Ontario Power or some other utility had an office here. The station was demolished around 1989. Behind the roofline, out of sight, is the huge trestle over the Grand River.

Glad you shared this Arnold ! Keep these coming ! Another piece of history…gone !
Thanks, sd; I hate to think sometimes of all the action photos I missed back in those days while driving around looking to satisfy my passion of the 1970s, which was train stations.
