The tunnel lights are zipping by as our train heads south on the stretch between Lawrence and Eglinton subway stations, traversing part of the TBM-bored Yonge subway line extension between Eglinton and York Mills that was opened in 1973 (further north to Finch was opened a year later, in 1974).
